I didn't want to do something too boring and obvious with the dancing figures using a silhouette or photo so I selected a couple of images that kind of looked like dancing and sent them over. They liked the gold statues best which I agreed with - they actually came from the image of the room that I used in the first poster, so I like the transition. I wanted the poster to have a sort of b-movie sci-fi feel which is what I had in mind when creating the text.
I started playing about with layouts and experimenting with warping the background as requested:
I didn't feel the warp was working though so eventually after much deliberation we decided on a design for the poster:
At the same time I was designing the flyer. Like last time they wanted text on one side and the image on the other. I thought it would be plain sailing but there were a lot of changes and a lot of debate to get to the finished product. This was what I originally had in mind:
Liam mentioned something about having just the figure of the man and we were discussing constellation patterns etc but I didn't want to stray too far from the image on the poster and thought they wanted something quite minimal:
All in all definitely happy with the outcomes for the project but I think all of us definitely learnt a bit about communication... Having said that I think making lots of changes has produced a stronger outcome we can all be happy with!
